Extremity Adjusting
Many people believe chiropractic care focuses solely on the spine, but in reality, every joint in the body must be properly aligned and moving correctly to prevent symptoms such as pain, mobility issues, and other dysfunctions.
All of our doctors are well-versed in adjusting all subluxated extremities. They adjust manually, as well as utilizing different tools like the activator and drop table to effectively and specifically correct the misalignment. This includes, but is not limited to the following extremities.
-
Shoulders
-
Elbows
-
Wrists
-
Hips
-
Knees
-
Feet

The Importance of Extremity Alignment for Optimal Function
The upper and lower extremities play a vital role in both structural alignment and neurological function. Proper movement of the ankles, knees, and hips is essential for spinal health—if these joints are restricted, gravity and poor biomechanics can limit the effectiveness of low and mid-back chiropractic adjustments. Similarly, dysfunction in the shoulder girdle can reduce the benefits of care for the neck and upper back.
Because all muscles attach to bones, proper joint alignment is key for strength and stability. Even slight subluxations (misalignments) can reduce muscle integrity, leading to weakness, poor coordination, and increased injury risk. Restoring alignment helps improve muscle function and overall performance.
Neurologically, the extremities stimulate the brain and support balance and coordination. Misalignments can disrupt this communication and may lead to nerve irritation or paresthesia (numbness, tingling, or burning). Addressing these issues helps optimize movement, brain function, and long-term health.
